How can I get a digital certificate?

If you want to obtain a digital certificate for the first time, please click [Certificate Center > Issue / Reissue] to get a new digital certificate. If you already have a digital certificate from another institution, you can use it right away by registering the digital certificate without reissue.
I got the error message: “You have already been issued a digital certificate. Please register your existing digital certificate.” What do I do?

You already have a digital certificate from another institution.
① If you want to use the digital certificate from another institution.
Please register your digital certificate by clicking [Certificate Center >
Registration] at the left hand side menu.
- ② If you do not have a digital certificate on your PC or USB.
Please visit the website which originally issued you with the digital
certificate, and ask them to reissue the certificate.
Then logon to HSBC internet banking, and register your digital certificate
by clicking [Certificate Center > Registration]. Or you can delete
your digital certificate at the website where it was originally issued and
then download a new digital certificate from HSBC internet banking.
Can I use the digital certificate at home and in the office?

Yes, you can.
You can copy the digital certificate to other drives such as a portable USB drive or memory stick.
- How to Copy
① Click [ Certificate Centre > Management ]
② Select a drive on which a Digital Certificate is saved.
③ Select the digital certificate and click "Copy"
④ Choose a drive to save to. (Portable USB, Security memory stick, etc)
⑤ Input the password for your digital certificate, and click [Confirm]
⑥ You can use the copied digital certificate with other PCs.
I have formatted the drive on which my digital certificate was saved. What should I do?

If you format your PC, your digital certificate will be deleted as well. Please click [Certificate Centre > Issue / reissue] and reissue your digital certificate.
- ※ If you reissue your digital certificate, the previous digital certificate will be suspended and you have to reregister your digital certificate with other institutions.
My digital certificate is about to expire. What should I do?

You can renew your digital Certificate before expiry.
- How to renew your digital certificate
A digital certificate can be renewed within 30 days before expiry. You have to have the digital certificate with you to renew it. You can renew your digital certificate by clicking [Certificate Centre > Renewal]. For this step you will need to know your internet banking credentials.
※ If the expiry date has already passed, you can issue a new Digital Certificate by clicking [Certificate Center > Issue/Reissue].
I have forgotten my digital certificate password.

You can try your password as many times as you like since there is no auto-lock function after having entered the wrong password several times. You can get a new digital certificate by clicking [Certificate Centre > Issue/Reissue], and set up your new password. The password is a case-sensitive alphanumeric of more than 8 characters long.
I have saved a digital certificate, but cannot find it.

When you are issued with a digital certificate, you have to select a drive to save it to. Please check the drive you have selected.
- You can save the digital certificate onto a portable SB drive, hard drive or security token. If you have saved your digital certificate n hard drive, please check a folder with your name in it [C:\ Program Files \ NPKI \ yessign \ User].
※ If you still cannot locate your digital certificate please get a new one.
How can I delete the Digital Certificate from a PC’s hard drive?

First, you have to revoke your digital certificate by clicking [Certificate Centre > Revocation]. Please click [Certificate > Management] to delete your digital certificate completely by clicking the [Delete] button on the certificate management panel.

General-purpose certificate: KRW 4,400 (Only Renew & Reissue are possible)
