HSBC Korea is committed to enhancing English education of Korean students. As the major sponsor of Seoul City Government’s English Village program, we set up on campus model HSBC a Bank where children could learn English through banking process. We are planning to create more programs for the banking class.
HSBC sponsors Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a global non-profit organization dedicated to student education on business related topics. It mobilizes university students to create real economic opportunities for our community. SIFE establishes student teams on university campuses and challenges them to develop community outreach projects. The teams compete with their projects, and the university team that wins national competition goes on to SIFE World Cup. HSBC Korea executives participate as a judge in the Korean national competition, and sponsored Korean students to take part in the SIFE World Cup. During the SIFE World Cup, HSBC Group hosts the HSBC Financial Literacy Program and invites student delegates who have displayed excellence in financial literacy projects during the year.
HSBC Living Finance is a financial literacy program designed to help middle school students develop the knowledge and skills required to make wise financial decisions.
Inviting 20 middle school students in each workshop, HSBC Living Finance provides them with an opportunity to learn important financial planning concepts such as identifying personal goals and differentiating ‘needs’ from ‘wants’ from HSBC FP and PB who volunteer to share their experience in wealth management.
HSBC International Managers to Korea are also invited to run the English quiz session in which students review what they learn during the class in English while having fun.
